An award-winning writer, Denison has co-authored two books, Bringing Up Baby with clinician John Lyons and Backcountry Basics with clinician Mike Kinsey. After 15 years with the magazine staff, including time spent as managing editor, Fran Smith, also an award-winning equine journalist, became Western Horseman's book publishing director.
