ABOUT THE AUTHOr Tracey Ellen Frances (Padron), 53. Illinois resident but soon to be tunneling out of the state to points east. She studied at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, with the intention of becoming a medical illustrator, and got sidetracked and became a union carpenter (something about tools...). Building houses, hotels, and bridges; 6 children and then the death of her husband 7 years ago, she never stopped drawing. Working from a studio she designed and built (carpentry comes in handy), she has sold her work worldwide for over 15 years via the internet. Recent collections at Egeli Gallery, Provincetown, Ma., and David Barnett Gallery in Milwaukee, Wi., has opened up the world of gallery representation. From an early age, becoming a master draftsman has been the focus of her work. Now, discovering a passion for painting, printmaking, and the ultimate art form of sculpture, these things round out this artist and fuel her drive to become an artist of significance.
