Thanks to Smart Games illustrations, first of all the cover, I would like to take you into a symbolic, sparkling and chromatic imaginary, following the thread of the game and constantly feeding the surprise effect which, in some cases, turns into disorientation and bewilderment.The graphic images I have created over the years are the result of a creative and unusual practice, built and realized on the Internet with the use of digital devices.It is a work of research and comparison focused on issues related to technological changes, born and raised on a virtual desk placed in a secure cloud, in which I have been gathering for a long time the ideas and the necessary texts for the story of each single artwork.This working method has allowed me to work continuously in different conditions, proving to be an effective and safe way from various points of view: fixing the idea or the creative spark, facilitating the research of material, immediately accessing to the virtual desk where drawings, images and texts are always available together with digital softwares that are quick and functional to the genesis of the project.So we can talk of a virtual work, native in the language, founded by bits, in a cloud computing to access from everywhere and where to register notes, to consider dimensions and colors: an efficient process in consulting archives, selecting topics and threads according to a mental scheme of requests formulated in the form of questions to obtain details and analysis or images consistent with the project.It is a working method that led me to the realization of this artwork, compiled by stitching graphic fragments, descriptive notes and symbols, assembling material founded in the network, royalty free clipart and images of other authors. So, slowly, the final layout was gradually structured, defined by a repeated total black and flat colors, sometimes clear but also bright reds on silky grays; a chromatic funfair where a narrative storytelling came to life to reveal the technological promises, the ones that already come true and also the future ones.Furthermore, the collection of illustrations also reveals amusing and caustic intentions, with ironic and mocking contents. This collection represents my personal reflection on the world of the web and the consequent cultural transformations. Each piece tells a story, in which everyone of us is the protagonist together with the world around us. We are taking part to an epochal change, which is dealt in many of the themes addressed in the artwork: psychoanalytic investigations, symbolic syntheses, myths and technological addiction, protagonism and spectacularization of life.Giuliano Ravazzini
