Some people absolutely hate the rain. There's even a childhood nursery rhyme that feeds into the idea that rain can ruin the opportunity for fun and play. For one little girl, she views the rain from a different perspective and invites the rain to stay for a while. She shows her three friends, who appear to be saddened by the rain, that there are all sorts of creative things they can do on a rainy day.
This story teaches mindfulness, gratefulness and encourages children to use their imaginations. This is a beautiful story written in verse.
I was inspired to write this story after seeing my little toddler looking at the rain from her bedroom window. She began to sing, "Rain, rain, go away..." As adorable as that moment was, the idea came to mind to create a new perspective on a rainy day. Rainy days are not only beautiful but necessary. They are the perfect opportunity for children to use their imaginations, have adventures, play in puddles and more.
