When I wrote and published these essays starting right before and during the first months of the pandemic shut down in New York City I suspected that we weren't going back to anything we'd come to accept as "normal" but I sure did not expect what we wound up with. From the vantage point of three years later it's interesting to see what I got right and what I was way off base about.
