About the Author
Bruce G. Dundas grew up in a musical home. His father played violin, and a brother played fiddle in country bands through the 1930s.
Music and square dancing was a constant in their home during the Depression years. Dundas began piano lessons at age four and played trumpet in the school band from fifth through twelfth grade. He also played button-box accordion and piano accordion, playing in dance bands up to the present.
After leaving military service in 1955, Dundas took up bass fiddle, playing in country bands through the late '50s, moving on to electric bass and playing rock music in the early '60s, as well as playing acoustic bass, piano, sax and drums combos throughout the late '60s. In the '70s, he transitioned to bluegrass and still plays accordion and bass in various dance and show bands.
