A reassuring story about losing (and finding!) something special, Alfie and the Angel of Lost Things is the fourth picture book from the beloved author of the Seven Sisters series Lucinda Riley, written with her son Harry Whittaker and illustrated by the award-winning Jane Ray.
Because somewhere, an angel is listening . . . Alfie is going on holiday, and he can't wait! His favourite toy, Bertie, is coming too, of course. He can't wait to show Bertie the view from the plane, and play with him on the beach. But while Alfie is busy on the sand, Bertie goes missing. Luckily, Luna, the angel of lost things, is on hand to reunite Alfie and Bertie, and show Alfie that special friends come in all shapes and sizes! Her books have been translated into thirty-seven languages and sold forty million copies worldwide. She was a No.1 Sunday Times and New York Times bestseller. Lucinda died in the summer of 2021.
Harry Whittaker grew up in the 1990s and spent the first few years of his life on the rural west coast of Ireland, with a poor TV signal (and certainly no iPad). It was therefore left to his mother to entertain him, which she did through telling him stories. As a result, Harry has become a storyteller himself, as an award-winning radio presenter for the BBC and a member of one of the UK's most renowned improv troupes, who perform all over the UK. Harry now hopes to spread a little warmth through the Guardian Angels series, which is Harry's first published work. Jane Ray is a children's illustrator admired worldwide for her exquisite, hand-painted artwork. She has illustrated over sixty children's books, working with bestselling authors such as Michael Rosen, Carol Ann Duffy and Jeanette Winterson. Jane has been shortlisted six times for the Kate Greenaway Award, won the Smarties Prize for The Story of Creation and was the UK's 2018 Nominee for the IBBY Hans Christian Andersen Award. Thanks for subscribing!
