Japanese-Canadian Akemi Tomoda came to Canada as a bride in 1970. She did not speak a word of English. After her husband's death, she struggled alone in a new country. Akemi is a devout Christian and believes in faith in God, service to your neighbour and especially thanksgiving for everything God gives you. She lives in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
