Jacqueline Anderson-Hutchings grew up in Ferndale, Michigan in the 1940's and 1950's. This rural setting inspired her mother, Lois Evelyn Tolbert-Hutchings to water-color art and poetry. She recognized her own talents but didn't see them as 'gifts' until her Pastor, Y. Hawkins-Bell, led her to the Bible scriptures concerning the 'Gifts from God' (Romans 12:6-18).
